Mar 15 & 16, Skogen - Gothenburg
Minnesriket is a sound performance where Amina Hocine and Lo Kristenson meet in a shared interest in the living presence of memories in a listening room. With pendulum movements and taut strings, the experiential space is mapped. Minnesriket is as much a musical experience as it is a visual and sensory journey.
After the performances, we offer dinner, feel free to stay and eat with us! Skogen does not have a fixed ticket price, but welcomes a donation for food and art.

World Premiere: Experiences of wood – to the forest that once was
In collaboration with Vilde&Inga
Building on a deep engagement with trees and forest ecosystems, Lo Kristenson’s new work for Vilde&Inga asks what we as humans can learn from the trees and their world. With Experiences of wood – to the forest that once was, they want to create a space to remember the forests that no longer exist. Forests that has been subjected to deforestation, where the trees have been uprooted and the ground has been plowed. Where the site now has lost its foundational network and its ability for cooperation. The event is a part of Borealis - a festival for experimental music.

Feb 25, Konsertkirken - Copenhagen
Welcome to the release concert of Damkapellet´s debut album Demiurge!
During the concert you will get to experience the material from the record in a unique setting as the ensemble always plays around with new constellations and improvisational elements. PULS was originally composed in 2017 but has since been reformed in 2019, in close collaboration with Damkapellet. The musical score now has a freer form that gives room for the musicians to influence the music. The composer has handed over some of the musical responsibility to the musicians. It is now Damkapellet that holds PULS together. The event is a part of Vinterjazz 2023.

Annika Liljedahl – Väx till Liv
The exhibition Väx till Liv shows a generous presentation of Annika Liljedahl's (b. 1946) work from the 1980s until today. Among other things, the work Insect Insight is also shown where the sound artist Lo Kristenson has composed music inspired by Annika Liljedahl’s installations. She has approached the world of insects by imagining insect sounds that our human ear cannot perceive and all the vibrations and signals that travel through space. Repetitions that change in pace and swirl around create an experience of physical presence of organisms that breathe, crawl, pant and doze off.

Insekt Insikt, Vita Kuben - Norrlandsoperan Umeå
By using the insect as a metaphor for transformation and survival, Annika Liljedahl wants us to reflect on the “raison d’être”, the nasty and the beautiful, belonging and exclusion, knowledge and imagination. In their contradictory statements, the works provide insight into the fact that one may not exist without the other.

Sept 11, Gyldendalhuset Oslo
Ensemble Allegria opens the fifth season of their own concert series NÅ with pianist Ingrid Andsnes at Gyldendalhuset in Oslo.
The program also includes two expressive works from more modern times: "Ramifications" by Ligeti (1969) and "Puls" by Lo Kristenson (2019).
Puls develops slowly within a meditative atmosphere, all tonal transitions are gradually and there is really nothing in the form that makes the music feel time-bound or linear.

19.00-19.45 Another Composer Coffee: Damkapellet in dialogue with Lo Kristensson
Damkapellet invites you for coffee, to present and tell about female, non-binary or trans composers of all times. We talk about their lives and their music, listen to, and/or perform live music by the portrayed composer – all with a good cup of coffee in relaxed form, where everyone is welcome. This event is an attempt to create a closer connection between audience, composers and musicians, where we can meet and get to know one another in eye level. We also believe that an increased knowledge about each other and the composers whose music we perform, can contribute to a deeper feeling of function and understanding.
20.00-22.00 Concert: Damkapellet
Unified in a work commissioned by the Swedish composer Lo Kristenson, the two ensembles Damkapellet (DK) and Kvinnoorkestern (SE) meet in an investigative meeting. Damkapellet manifesto quoted:
“We value diversity of our members and intend to establish an open and secure environment where everyone contributes to the creative process. From our background as classical musicians we have experienced power structures and a gender stereotypical environment. We want to explore alternative methods by seeking new ways of experiencing and performing music”.
The realisation of this involves, among other things, an investigative and in-depth work on these issues. How do we value the diversity of the group? How do we create a safe and creative environment? We call the work on these questions the Big Experiment of Damkapellet.

June 29 – Sept 1, Insect Insight, Artipelag Stockholm
The exhibition Insect Insight features nine sculptural installations based on insects and is the work of Swedish artist Annika Liljedahl (b. 1946). Composer Lo Kristenson (b. 1991) has created a music experience consisting of audio tracks integrated into Liljedahl’s podiums, as well as a six-channel sound composition played from loudspeakers in the ceiling.
The artworks in the exhibition have been gradually emerging since 2016 and consist of hundreds of separate smaller sculptures. The sculptures and the music coalesce into an imaginative and enthralling holistic experience.

March 8, Damkapellet Minifestival, Konsertkirken Copenhagen
Puls 2.0 in close collaboration with Damkapellet.
The idea from the beginning was to try to evoke a closer connection between all the musicians in the ensemble. By breaking up the score with box notation, I wanted to try to shake up the orchestra's more strict format into a slightly smaller and more intimate chamber music format.
