Who owns the language, who owns the emotions and who owns the music?
The questions above are posed by Senter for kollektivt skapande, a Norwegian-Swedish project consisting of Vilde Sandve Alnæs (violin), Lo Kristenson (composer), Inga Margrete Aas (double bass) and Tove Bagge (viola).
The project started with a desire to develop one or more methods for creating new music in a non-hierarchical relationship between composer and musician.
Through a collective, creative process, we are composing a work in which all four are contributing with material, sketches, thoughts about the music and the design of the score.
The result will be a multi-voiced expression, both sounding and in the score, as a possible entry into what ownership can mean within the compositional frames. A soundscape that is strongly connected to the instruments, with the inspiration emerging from the physical relationship between musician and instrument.
